Book Exchange is a notice board for students to find used books. We do not sell books, we do not take payment, and we are not part of any deal between a buyer and a seller.

1. What this site does

You can post a book, search for a book, and see a seller’s phone number and city so you can call them. After that, everything happens between you and the other person: talking, meeting, checking the book, and paying.

2. We are not responsible

You agree that Book Exchange and the people who run it are not responsible for:

• fake listings, wrong photos, or a book that is not as described
• price, quality, missing pages, or damage
• payment problems, cash disputes, or UPI disputes
• someone not turning up, or any argument after a meetup
• theft, fraud, cheating, or any crime
• injury, loss, or anything that happens when you meet
• how another user uses your phone number, name, or city

If there is a problem, talk to the other person. We cannot refund money, replace a book, or settle a fight.

3. Stay safer when you meet

• Call or message first. Do not share extra personal details you do not need to share.
• Meet only in a public place you know (college gate, library, busy market, cafe).
• Do not go to a private home or an empty street for a first meetup.
• Check the book in your hands before you pay.
• Pay only after you are happy with the book. We do not hold money for you.
• Tell a friend where you are going if you feel unsure.

4. Your listings and account

Post only books you can legally sell. Do not post stolen books, scanned PDFs, or anything false. We may edit, hide, or delete a listing or account at any time if we think it is harmful, fake, or against these terms.

5. The site is a trial

This is an early student project. It may have mistakes, downtime, or changes without notice. We provide it “as is”, with no guarantee that it will always work or that every listing is genuine.

6. Privacy

How we use your name, phone, address, and photos is explained in the Privacy policy. By using the site you also accept that policy.
